Welcome to the All Military Family Assistance ProgramOur primary concern is that no military service member or family is left behind, and we have come together to form a statewide "safety net" for them. The purpose of the program is to connect military families with volunteer service(s) within their community, government and faith-based organizations to help ease their family's burden. Featured EventsOPERATION: OHIO HELPS ITS OWN Community Town Hall Meetings Major General Gregory L. Wayt, The Adjutant General of the State of Ohio invites you to attend a Town Hall event in your area to learn how through partnership and volunteerism we can support all Ohio Military Families. Community Town Hall Meetings flyer Family Readiness Conference The annual Ohio Family Readiness Conference will take place 3-5 April 2009 at the Columbus Marriott Northwest, 5605 Blazer Parkway, Dublin, Ohio 43017, (614) 791-1000. The purpose of this conference is to familiarize and train both military and volunteer leaders on the Ohio Family Readiness Program, military benefits, and support organizations accessible to ALL Ohio service members and their Families no matter service branch or component. This conference also offers a youth leadership and personal skills program for attendee children (ages 6 through 17). Improved Family readiness contributes to service member readiness, facilitating safe and successful training, and mission accomplishment. It is my hope that every military component in Ohio will feel welcome at this conference and gain great insight into the Family Readiness Program. A successful Family Readiness Program centers on the Family Readiness Group (FRG) and/or Ombudsmen. Accordingly, all FRG leadership teams, unit level volunteers, Commanders, Senior NCOs, etc are cordially invited and encouraged to participate in the conference. FACT: Successful FRG teams include "trained, knowledgeable, and capable" volunteer and military leaders. This fact validates the need for ongoing training opportunities for all leadership. Classes scheduled during this conference were carefully selected and customized to better prepare our military Families for the challenges associated with mobilization and deployments. A listing of classes and descriptions will be posted on our website at: www.ong.ohio.gov/family no later than 11 March 2009. |
